Myrtlewood Golf Club is home to two championship golf courses, PineHills and The Palmetto, which are set along the beautiful Intracoastal Waterway in the heart of Myrtle Beach, S.C. Since its opening in 1966, Myrtlewood's commitment to great golf, superior customer service and top-notch facilities has made it a Grand Strand favorite. The PineHills Course is the first and only design along the Grand Strand by award-winning architect Arthur Hills. It was formerly known as The Pines, but renamed PineHills in 1993, when Hills redesigned it. The PineHills course is routed along the same path as its predecessor, but Hills' skillful use of mounding and strategically placed water hazards gave the course a completely different feel. PineHills was on Golf Digest's list of nominations for "Best New Resort Course" after its redesign and was a finalist to host the Tour Championship for the Senior PGA Tour when the event was held in Myrtle Beach. In 1997, PineHills was named one of Golf Digest’s Top Ten Courses in Myrtle Beach. The Palmetto Course, a classic Edmund B. Ault design, features generous fairways lined with pine trees and magnificent views of the Intracoastal Waterway. The Palmetto’s par three number 17 hole is a beautiful par three that has the Intracoastal Waterway as a backdrop. But the course’s most memorable hole is the 18th, which provides a dramatic finish with play along the shore of the Waterway. In addition to two great golf courses, Myrtlewood has luxurious on-site accommodations. The 36-hole facility also features an 8,000-square foot clubhouse that includes a full-service pro shop and a snack bar.
