The Legends Resort's Moorland Course is guaranteed to put a smile on any avid golfer's face. The opportunity to play on several 18-hole golf courses without leaving the grounds of the resort property makes for the ideal golfing experience. Opening in 1990, the Moorland Course has proven itself to be a timeless favorite among golfers of all levels of experience. Designed by P.B. Dye, the par-72 course has four sets of tees, a little something for everyone. The back tees total 7,017 yards of play, while the front tees are perfect for those golfers who like a little shorter game at 4,871 yards.
The Moorland Course was designed with the PGA West Stadium Course in mind. It has large natural growth areas, plenty of sand, and just enough water to make most golfers squirm. Waste areas and undulating greens and fairways allow golfers to fine tune their skills, as well. The Legends Resort's Moorland Course was ranked 37th in the United States - because of its extremely tough layout. Golf Digest named the course among the Top Ten New Courses, as well.
The Moorland Course at Legends Resort is located in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Myrtle Beach is a frequent vacation destination for many golfers and non-golfers because of its beautiful beaches, warm ocean waves, and fun-filled activities in the sun. The mild climate makes it perfect for a swim or 18 holes of golf. Restaurants serving the freshest seafood abound, while unique shops make Myrtle Beach a shopper's paradise, as well. In addition, visitors can take a moonlit stroll along the pier and the boardwalk, head out for some saltwater fishing, or just take a deep breath and relax.
The clubhouse at The Legends Resort is stunning. A restaurant serves all meals and includes a full-service bar, the perfect place to rest and refuel after playing a great 18-holes. The Legends Golf Academy is ranked as one of the top golfing schools by GOLF Magazine. The equipment is state-of-the-art and in combination with a professional golfing instructor it will help even the best golfers improve. In addition, a 30 acre driving range has lights for practicing into the evening hours, large putting and chipping greens will give golfers the chance to better their short game, and a fully stocked golf pro shop offers the chance to pick up that forgotten, lost, or need to purchase item.
