The Legends Resort supplies avid golfers with a great opportunity to play on several spectacular courses, all located on one remarkable resort property. Among the resort favorites is the fabulous Heathland Course. Since its opening in 1991, the Heathland Course, has challenged and pleased golfers of all skill levels. Designed by Tom Doak, the par-71 course offers golfers the choice of four set of tees at every hole. The champion tees total nearly 7,000 yards of play, while the front-most, red tees are a bit easier at just over 5,000 yards.
The Heathland Course is a links-styled course, similar to the well-known St. Andrews course and others in the British Isles. Golfers will not be surprised to learn that GOLF Magazine ranked Heathland among the Top 10 New Resort Courses in the World and one of South Carolinas Courses Near You. Besides the well-maintained greens and fairways, one of the first things golfers will notice is the unrelenting breeze. It consistently provides an unseen challenge to golfers who strive to keep their golf balls within the fairways and not in the deep rough that borders them.
The Legends Resort - and, of course, the Heathland Course is located in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Myrtle Beach has seemingly endless miles of beautiful beaches, fun-filled waves, and countless days of sunshine. It is loved for its mild climate - perfect for a dip in the pool or a round of golf. Restaurants serving fresh seafood and great shops can be found in Myrtle Beach, as well. It makes for a golfing destination that the entire family can enjoys.
