The Heritage Club, one of the amazing golf courses that is part of the Legends Resort group of golf courses, has much to offer golfers - from beginners to the most experienced players. Designed by legendary golf course architect, Dan Maples, the par-71 golf course at the Heritage Club is the epitome of an exceptional southern course. Four sets of tees ranging from 5,221 yards to 7,118 yards make it a course that anyone can - and that everyone should - play.
Every detail was carefully planned and considered when designing the 600 acre golf course at the Heritage Club. It originated as a rice plantation and the beautiful magnolia trees, ancient oaks, and traditional hanging moss are reminiscent of the days gone by. Golfers will notice there are plenty of wetland areas, well-positioned bunkers, and water on ten of the 18 holes. The greens are both protected and undulating, making putting a challenge.
The Heritage Club has won numerous awards through the years. It was rated one of the 50 Best Public Courses in America, one of the Top 100 Courses You Can Play In the USA, and #1 on the Grand Strand by Golf Digest. In addition, it was ranked one the South Carolina's Best Courses Near You by GOLF Magazine. Golfers only need to take one look at the remarkable landscaping, the well-maintained greens and fairways, and the pristine setting to agree completely with these awards.
The golf course at The Heritage Club is located on Pawleys Island in South Carolina. Pawleys Island is located 25 miles south of Myrtle Beach and 70 miles north of Charleston - making it the perfect golfing destination for vacationers and South Carolina locals alike. Pawleys is loved for its laid-back way of life. Activities include crabbing, shelling, fishing, biking, kayaking, and wandering the beaches and dunes. Just remember the main goal for those visiting Pawleys Island is relaxation - whether on the beach or on the greens.
Although everything on the grounds of the Heritage Club lends one to believe it came right out of Gone with the Wind, don’t let the clubhouse fool you. It is a majestic Colonial-styled clubhouse overlooking the Waccamaw River. It is absolutely beautiful - and it was constructed in 1986. Golfers will also find an amazing pro shop and a practice range on-site, perfect for improving one’s drive or purchasing that oft forgotten item.
