Golfers will continuously be amazed with the variety that can be found among each of the four golf courses in Barefoot Resort and Golf. Golfers will be unable to refrain from checking out each of the four courses: the Dye course, the Norman course, the Love course, and the Fazio course. However, one of the best kept secrets of the group is the Dye course. Since opening in 2000, Barefoot Resort and Golf’s Dye course has become legendary among golfers of all levels of abilities. The Dye course was designed by award-winning golf course architect, Pete Dye. The par 72 golf course provides golfers with challenges galore. Luckily, there are four sets of tees at each hole – ranging from the forward tees to the tournament tees. Consequently, the yardage can vary from a 5,021 yards to 7,343 yards – enough to cause even the most well-seasoned golfer to break into a sweat.
Golfers will find many gems throughout the Dye course at Barefoot Resort and Golf. Pot bunkers are strategically scattered throughout the holes. The sand traps are beautiful and encourage golfers to hit with absolute accuracy. Large grass mounds frame various holes and the greens are often elevated and sloped. There are slight hills and, of course, Pete Dye’s infamous railroad ties can be found from time to time. Water is found on several of the holes – one actually has water running from tee to green.
If the beauty and the challenges of Barefoot Resort and Golf’s Dye course is not enough to reel golfers in, perhaps the Annual Hootie & the Blowfish Monday after the Masters Celebrity Pro-Am Tournament will do it. Celebrities ranging from famous sports superstars to well-known actors and legendary musicians gather at the Dye course and play in a golf tournament to raise money for children’s education through the Hootie & the Blowfish Foundation. It is always a fun, lively, and entertaining event for everyone.
Barefoot Resort and Golf – and the Dye course - are located in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Myrtle Beach has miles of fun-filled sandy beaches, ocean waves, and lots of sunshine. It has a wonderful topical climate, too. Fresh seafood restaurants and plenty of shopping at Barefoot Landing which is directly across the waterway. It is truly the perfect golfing destination for the entire family. Besides great golf, visitors can walk on the boardwalk and the pier, spend the day sailing, fishing, or boating, and check out any of the hip nightlife spots.
The Dye course has its own clubhouse, restaurant, and pro-shop. It has a private members only area, a fine dining restaurant, and a work-out facility. The views from the clubhouse of the golf course are always inspiring. In addition, it is just moments from the Barefoot Resort and Golf main clubhouse. Regardless, there are many choices for delicious lunches, dinners, and banquets. The driving range is even lit at night – perfect for hitting the post-dinner bucket of balls. Lastly, there is a Golf Academy to help improve any golfer’s swing.
